Debbie Dacone joined the staff in 2012 as Director of Religious Education, including facilitating the PSR program, 2nd grade First Communion and High School Confirmation.
Debbie began ministry at Bethesda the House of Mercy, providing one-on-one support for women hurting from abortion and facilitating retreats and days of reflection within that ministry. She earned her MA in Theology from St. Mary Seminary with a focus in Sacraments and Liturgy while pursuing formation in the Lay Ecclesial Ministry process in the Diocese of Cleveland. Debbie is a certified spiritual director in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Most recently, she was employed by the Diocese as a Newman Campus Minister at Oberlin College and Cleveland State after teaching high school theology at Our Lady of the Elms in Akron. Debbie finds God in prayerful study. She earned a Doctorate in Ministry in Preaching at Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis in January 2014.
Debbie married Don in 1975 and together have two grown children, Deana and David. She trains for and runs in half marathons, enjoys traveling, reading, time with family and concerts.
